HLN will host the 40th annual Daytime Emmy Awards in 11 days live from the Beverly Hills Hilton in California. In what seems (to me) like waiting until the last minute, the network announced today the hosts for the event.
HLN talents A.J. Hammer and Robin Meade will be joined by ABC's Good Morning America's Sam Champion as the hosts of the program. I remember the year that James Franco and Anne Hathaway hosted the Academy Awards together and to me it seemed like less hosts were better than more, but what do I know?
In addition to hosting, Meade (a country music singer when she is not hosting the network's Morning Express) will be performing the two nominees for best song during the event as she will cover Sheryl Crow's "This Day" from Katie; and Little Big Town's "Good Afternoon America" from Good Afternoon America.
Hammer will also be pulling extra duty, as he will also be hosting the live red carpet special Showbiz @ The Daytime Emmys along with HLN's Christi Paul. Hammer is the regular host of HLN's Showbiz Tonight.
Presenters for the show include Rachael Ray, Kathy Griffin, the cast of The Talk, Steve Harvey, Betty White, Wayne Brady, Alex Trebek, Bethenny Frankel, Kris Jenner and more.
The event will be broadcast from 8 to 10 p.m. ET.
