Alec Baldwin is heading back to the small screen. Or at least his voice will be heard once again.
Baldwin has been named as the new narrator for an upcoming National Geographic Channel documentary series called Night of Exploration. Night of Exploration is a programming block that will show documentaries (narrated by Baldwin) that look at global hotspots and the people who explore them.
The series begins airing on June 14 at 8 p.m. The first film is Crossing the Ice, which follows two Australian adventurers as they try to travel from the edge of Antarctica to the South Pole and back, unassisted - a feat never before accomplished.
Subsequent episodes will air every Friday throughout the summer.
This is not Baldwin's first nature documentary narration work. He previous narrated the series Frozen Planet (a co-production with Discovery and the BBC) in 2011, as well as National Geographic's 2010 series Great Migrations. He does have the voice for narration, doesn't he?
National Geographic has a loaded summer slate. Other series that kick off include Eyewitness War (which tracks the people who work at law enforcement agencies); a look at U.S. Marines in Afghanistan in the series Battleground Afghanistan; Inside Secret America, an investigative program; Inside the American Mob; and The Castle (about an American building a castle/bunker in South Carolina).
