Brooke Burns, best known for her television roles on 'Ally McBeal' and 'Baywatch,' has signed on to host GSN's new upcoming gameshow 'The Chase.'
'The Chase' is described as a rapid-fire quiz show modeled after the British format series of same title. The show pits a group of four contestants against a resident genius--how they choose to define genius remains to be explained. Dan Patrick of NBC Sports had been in line for the hosting position for some time, however it seems that negotiations for the job fell through at the last minute. Burns, who had already signed on to host the GSN series 'Where Have you Been All My Life?,' seemed a natural eleventh-hour solution.
'Where Have you Been All My Life?' was announced as part of GSN’s development slate at last month’s upfront. The series is a dating game in the vein of, well, 'The Dating Game.' Contestants will play the game in order to get to know potential suitors, with the hope of finding a love connection through this very strange and public means.
Along with 'Ally McBeal' and 'Baywatch,' Burns has also appeared on the scripted television series 'North Shore,' 'Pepper Dennis' and 'Miss Guided.' She also played a main character on the short-lived 2009 reboot of 'Melrose Place.'
The American version of 'The Chase' will begin filming this summer. For a look at the British version of the series, check out the video below!
