More production news coming out of the AMC sister-station WE tv: the original series 'House of Curves' has been greenlit and ordered for six hour-long episodes.
Slated to premiere June 13, the unscripted reality program 'House of Curves' will feature Atlanta designer Kenyatta Jones and her plus-sized fashion business, Bella René. Jones is the CEO of Bella René who has, for years, been designing her dream fashion collection for plus-sized women. Jones works alongside the other characters on the series: her two best friends from college, her quick-witted and attitudinal assistant as well as her mother--who happens to be a key investor in Bella René.
WE tv has several new unscripted programs coming this summer, of which 'House of Curves' is the latest addition. 'Marriage Boot Camp: Bridezillas' and 'Pregnant & Dating' are two of the self-explanatory series coming from the network formerly known as Women's Entertainment. 'L.A. Hair' and 'Kendra on Top' will both be returning to WE tv's unscripted line-up, as well.
'House of Curves' will enter production immediately, from Pie Town Productions. Hopefully the series will act as an opportunity to show off some gorgeous plus-sized models, who are criminally-underrepresented on television. Bella René's slogan is "fashion is not an option, it's a way of life;' certainly sounds like ripe fruit from which to pluck some daytime reality television to me.
