Nickelodeon has the golden touch when it comes to animated series. Almost anything that it releases turns into a cash cow for the network.
The latest pot of gold will premiere on Saturday, May 25 at 10:30 a.m. when Sanjay and Craig debuts on the network.
The series features the vocal talents of Chris Hardwick (The Nerdist, Talking Dead) and Maulik Pancholy (30 Rock). Twenty episodes have been ordered for the show's first season.
The show follows Sanjay (Pancholy), a high-strung, energy filled 12-year-old, and Craig (Hardwick), his silver-tongued snake and expert of disguise. The two go on a variety of different quests on the show, and will interact with characters voiced by Linda Cardellini, Matt Jones, Tony Hale, Kunal Nayyar and Grey DeLisle, to name a few.
Sanjay and Craig was created by Jay Howell, Jim Dirschberger and Andreas Trolf.
“The comedic and outrageous adventures of Sanjay and Craig deliver the perfect yet distinctive mix of weird, wonderful and random humor that is both unconventional and modern, which this post-millennial world has a strong affinity for,” said Russell Hicks, Nickelodeon president of content development and production.
I know a lot of our readers are not the biggest fans of animated series or cartoons in general, but what do you think of this show’s concept?
