The insanity that is the "Ninja Warrior" obstacle course is returning to television this summer, now with new challenges and two new hosts.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, "American Ninja Warrior," the US adaptation of the cult Japanese physical challenge series, will be bringing along former NFL player and NFL Network sports analyst Akbar Gbaja Biamila and ESPN sports broadcaster Jenn Brown to join returning host Matt Iseman.
"I am elated to be a part of the American Ninja Warrior family," Gbaja Biamila said. "This is truly the most epic competition show on television and one one of the biggest highlights of my broadcast career."
Additionally, the touring qualifying round will change up the obstacle course with each city it visits, with a "win and get in" format that will allow successful competitors the chance to go to Las Vegas to compete for the "American Ninja Warrior" title.
"After the success of last season, we knew we had to give audiences more of the thrills and excitement that only 'American Ninja Warrior' can deliver," said executive producer Arthur Smith. "This year promises to be bigger, better, and even more challenging."
Production on the new season began on April 5th, and is scheduled to air this summer on Esquire Network (formerly G4) and NBC, so slap some chalk on those hands and get practicing!
