Apolo Ohno knows a thing or two about doing things fast.
The former Olympic speed skater has been tabbed as the new host of Minute to Win It, a game show that previously aired on NBC. That edition, was hosted by Guy Fieri from March 2010 to September 2011.
This revamp will air on GSN and begin production this month, with a late 2013 launch date. The series will be produced by Shine America and will be based on the format developed by its sister company, Friday TV.
Ohno will be the host for all of the 40 episodes that were ordered of the revival in February.
In the series, competitors use everyday items to overcome 10 challenges, with each one more difficult than those before it. The tricky part is that each obstacle has a one-minute time limit (hence the name of the series).
This will not be Ohno's first TV rodeo, however. He has appeared on two seasons of ABC's Dancing With the Stars, as well as an episode of Hawaii Five-O as a suspect and a guest appearance on The Biggest Loser. He also appeared in a Syfy original movie titled Tasmanian Devils as "Stone."
Ohno is a two-time Olympic gold medal winner.
