A game show formerly on NBC has been resurrected.
GSN has given a 40- episode order for “Minute to Win It.” Production will begin in March and the show will be launched in late 2013.
Shine America will produce the episodes based on a format owned by its sister company Friday TV.
The game show ran on NBC from March 2010 to September 2011. Guy Fieri hosted “Minute to Win It.”
“Minute To Win It has become a global phenomenon and we are thrilled to be bringing it to GSN’s avid fan base. With original games and some timeless classics, our goal is to make this new season a family favorite,” Eden Gaha, President of Shine America, said in a statement Monday.
" 'Minute to Win It' is a buzzy, addictive and social media-friendly show and we are excited to be producing 40 new hourlong episodes," Amy Introcaso- Davis, GSN's exec VP of programming, said.
Prizes on the GSN version will top out at $100,000, instead of $1 million like on the NBC version.
GSN acquired off- network rights to “Minute to Win It” in July, and the show is tops among 2-17 and 18-34 year old viewers.
This will be the first time a U.S. cable network has developed the series.
