Right off the bat, I apologize if I missed any vital details on this episode. I’m dealing with major ongoing issues with Dish, and had to switch to the antennae during the episode.
So the episode started with Rayna (Connie Britton) and Deacon (Charles Esten) in bed together, but it was all Rayna’s dream. This may not be the only time we see such a scene this season, however.
Juliet (Hayden Panettiere) last week was spotted shoplifting by some teen girls, and it blew up online. Cops came to her house, but she slammed the door on them. When her manager tells her this isn’t good publicity, Juliet says, “At least I look good.” She ends up appearing on “Good Morning America,” where she storms out after she was asked if her mother was arrested for drug possession.
From the intro it looked like it was going to be a Powers Boothe- heavy episode, but that wasn’t the case. T‘was a shame, though he did argue with Deacon. Rayna’s husband Teddy (I haven’t really cared about his mayoral race story) apparently either had or is still having an affair.
Meanwhile, Gunnar and Scarlett (Clare Bowen) are recording their album. Gunnar (Sam Palladio) quickly hooked up with pretty young thing Emily at the studio, and Scarlett continued fighting with boyfriend Avery (Jonathan Jackson).
I thought by now Rayna and Juliet would be on the road together, but they seem to instead have parallel but separate stories going that rarely intertwine. As I said I also don’t really care about Teddy’s campaign stuff, though I guess it informs Rayna’s story.
