Review: New Girl 2.06 "Halloween"

The roommates’ relationships were mostly blown up on this week’s episode of “New Girl.”

Jess (Zooey Deschanel) has a (temporary, I’d assume) job working at a haunted house, which everyone ends up going to on Halloween.

Winston (Lamorne Morris) and Shelby (Kali Hawk) broke up in the haunted house after arguing about her costume (reigning cats and dogs, which I personally thought was brilliant).

Nick (Jake Johnson) had a college friend who he always pined for visit him. He finally got the girl, but realized the real thing wasn’t the same as the dream he always had.

Though Schmidt (Max Greenfield) is single, he has been dissing Cece’s (Hannah Simone) new boyfriend Robby (Nelson Franklin) all season. The two men made peace this week, though Cece couldn’t help but stare when Schmidt turned his Abe Lincoln costume into Magic Mike.

Jess also started having feelings for Sam (David Walton) after discovering he is a pediatrician. Sam, however, still wants something casual, and rebuffs Jess when she asks him out for real.

Oh, and Nick went into the house looking for Jess, but ended up getting scared and punching her. Jess returns the favor later while Winston and Schmidt were holding him.

Now that the Jess and Sam (David Walton) storyline seems to have played out, we’ll have to see how she ends up with next. It should be Nick, but I’m not putting money on that.
