Julia Roberts producing ABC series

Julia Roberts is bringing Williams Shakespeare to the small screen. Well, at least one of his plays. Okay, at least the name of one of his plays.

Roberts and her company, Red Om Films, is teaming with Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas of 3 Arts and ABC Studios to produce The Taming of the Shrew, a half-hour workplace comedy that focuses on a horrible boss and the employees trying to calm down her reign of terror.

Marc Hyman (Meet the Fockers) wrote the script.

Roberts and Goldsmith-Thomas are both serving as executive producers. The two women have worked together since Goldsmith-Thomas was Roberts' agent in the early 1990s. The two produced two films together based on the American Girl book series, as well as CBS' short-lived Queens Supreme dramedy with Aaron Spelling.

Little is known about the series beyond the title and the brief description provided. Frankly, it sounds boring and one-note to me. I am not sure how this series could be dragged out for that long. Of course, CBS has drug out a guy telling his kids about how he met their mother for eight years now, so what do I know?

Does this sound like an interesting concept to you? Will you give it a chance?
