Are you missing your daily dose of Regis Philbin? Fear not, because Rachael Ray will be serving up a heapin' helpin' of the legendary television host on her show at least one day a month.
TV personality extraordinaire Regis Philbin will be visiting Rachael Ray's kitchen on her syndicated talk show once a month. The entertainment legend taped his first co-hosting appearance on Wednesday and it will air today. Judging from the response of the studio audience, there is a high demand for more Regis and insiders are hoping that his natural chemistry with Rachael will lead to more regular appearances in the future.
When he left the long-running Live! With Regis And Kelly last November, the 81-year-old made it clear that he wasn't retiring and subsequently logged guest stints on CNN's Piers Morgan Tonight, the fourth hour of NBC's Today, and TV Land's Hot In Cleveland. The holder of the Guinness World Record for "Most Hours on US Television," Philbin insists that he isn't looking for a regular job with the dynamic Ray. "I'm not a co-host, I'm just a guy showing up on her show once a month," adding, "I love the idea. It's fun to be back on TV when you don't have to do it every day."
I always enjoyed Regis and watched his show with Kathie Lee Gifford when I was home from school. As host of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, he was a cultural touchstone. The man is, quite simply, an icon. Do you want to see him on a daily basis again?
