Glee have decided to enlist the services of Academy Award winning actress Helen Mirren who will serve as the "inner voice" of a character on Fox's hit series. According to reports The Queen star will not be seen but heard, when Glee returns from its holiday break on January 17th.
Ms. Mirren will star in the episode entitled "Yes/No," will be directed by Eric Stoltz, who has co-starred with Mirren is the 2007 feature film The Passion of Ayn Rand and will also star The Real Housewives of Atlanta's Nene Leakes, who will appear as swim coach Roz Washington.
It is still yet to be confirmed which character Helen Mirren will be solely talking to however it is rumored to be a big one for Will, played by Matthew Morrison and Emma, played by Jayma Mays.
Mirren will be joining a stellar list of guest stars who have appeared on the show which include Gwyneth Paltrow, who picked up an Emmy award for best supporting actress in a comedy for her role as McKinley substitue teacher Holly Holiday. Her cover of Cee Lo Green's "Forget You" became one of the show's most downloaded songs, with more than 720,000 deciding to compare her vocals to her husbands.
John Stamos even appeared as 'Dr Carl Howell' for four episodes of the dramedy, playing a love interest for Emma and The West Wing star Kristin Chenoweth's April Rhodes popped up in three episodes of the show, playing an endearing alcoholic who only had eyes for her childhood friend Will. Neil Patrick Harris's guest appearance as Bryan Ryan, Will Schuester's former high school glee club nemesis, was a particular highlight for many of the show's fans.
So will Mirren rival the above guest stars? Or will she finally give the show a royal seal of approval?
