The inventors are Richard Reisman and his wife who came up with the idea after a trip to Colombia. The company is based out of Las Vegas Nevada where the product was launched in 2010. Jwoww is the first celebrity endorsement for the brand. The head designer is Claudia Cardenas.
While things are heating up for Jwoww things are cooling down for the Situation. Abercrombie & Fitch made a big stink this year over apparel worn on the Jersey Shore . They publicly requested that Mike Sorrentino stop wearing their clothes. They felt the association was hurting their brand.
Ambercrombie & Fitch soon found themselves the defendant in a lawsuit over trademarks. Turns out they have been selling Situation related merchandise since 2010 and Serrentino was not pleased. The brand is now claming it was just a joke and invoking their right to parody. MTV, the network that airs the Jersey Shore, has stated that the feud is a PR stunt by the clothing line.
The two parties are now attempting to settle in court.
