Nicole Scherzinger has failed to commit to continuing on the Fox television series, which has been renewed for a second season. Asked at a press conference whether she would return, the Pussycat Dolls singer commented that " I've had a lot of fun this season. The reason I took this job is I wanted to mentor, first and foremost ... It has been very hard on me, the elimantion process. It's something I could never have been prepared for."
Scherzinger was a last minute replacement for the orginal judge Cheryl Cole, who booted out of the series within the first week of recording the show. She has recevied mostle negative feedback from fans and recently found herself embroiled in controversy over the exit of 13-year-old singer Rachel Crow.
She didn't mention the events of the last few weeks in the press conference, only hypin up the two-part season finale this Tuesday and Wednesday. She sat alongside Josh Krajcik, who she has mentored to the finals and will come up against, Melanie Amaro and Chris Rene, both of whom are mentored by Simon Cowell and L.A Reid respectively.
Nicole stated that " For, what's important is to live in the moment. I've got to get Josh through this and to come out swinging. So I'm just going to focus on doing a really good job with Josh here."
Cowell has failed to comment today about the singers future but last week he responded to the question whether he'd want to replace Scherzinger as a judge next season with, "Haven't got a clue. We change these shows all the time. You listen to the network, you listen to the sponsors." Whilst Scherzinger has previouslty revealed that "if they'll have me back, I would love to be back."
So will Scherzinger return to X Factor screens in 2012?
