Greg Davies and Alex Horne announce the contestants for series 2 of Taskmaster

It was announced today that Jon Richardson, Richard Osman, Joe Wilkinson, Katherine Ryan, and Doc Brown will compete against each other for the ultimate accolade of being crowned Taskmaster in series 2 of the hit show starring Greg Davies 2014 and Foster's Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee Alex Horne, who also devised the show for UKTV's entertainment channel Dave.

As the Taskmaster, Greg Davies will set a series of stupefying tasks to this brand-new group of comedians with Alex Horne assisting as his right-hand-man, coaxing the hopeful champions to show their creativity, conniving and competitiveness. Once again, rivalry will be encouraged, dodgy tactics rewarded and pitiful attempts scoffed at in the most dogged, hard-fought and ridiculous comedy show on TV. Taskmaster started out as a critically acclaimed live show, which ran at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2010 and 2011. Series one saw Josh Widdecombe crowned as series victor.

In 2015 it was announced that UKTV had commissioned a second and third series of Taskmaster, which was nominated for Best Entertainment Programme at the 2016 Broadcast Awards and was 2015's most watched commission on UKTV's VOD service, UKTV Play.
