CBS cast Bill Paxton on Training Day sequel pilot

CBS has cast Bill Paxton in the lead role for their Training Day sequel pilot.

The film of the same name saw Denzel Washington winning an Oscar for his performance.

The series will take up the story fifteen years on from the 2001 film and follows an idealistic African American police officer called Kyle Craig who becomes part of of an elite squad of the Los Angeles Police Department and is partnered with an ambiguous detective.

Bill Paxton will play Frank Rourke, a veteran LAPD policeman who leads the Special Investigation Section, who attempt to track down the worse criminals out there.
