Danny Walters talks about the return of Benidorm which can be seen Monday nights at 9pm on itv.
Was it an easy decision to come back?
I’ve been doing it for three years and it’s the best job in the entire world. When you get the contract through you snap up the opportunity because it’s one of the best shows. You can’t ask for anything more.
But you’re on your own now?
Yes, there’s only one surviving Dyke for the time being! He’s back on his own and I think it’s nice for Tiger because you see such a different side to him. You see him come out of his shell, for the last few years he’s had the problem of his parents watching over him. Now he can let rip, anything can happen. I do miss the family, we got on so well.
We hear Tiger’s not alone?
He’s with his mate Joey played by Nathan Bryon and they just bounce off each other. They get into so much trouble and have a fun holiday. Without a doubt it’s so good to have Nathan with me this time. I can’t explain it, it’s just a great double act. They aren’t the brightest of the bunch when together!
Are they looking for sun, sea and sex?
There’s a bit of that but the comedy comes from them being such fools. They are so innocent, it’s not about drinking and ladies. It’s about two mates having fun and they get things wrong all the time.
How do you feel about bring the hunk of the show?
I haven’t heard that one but I’ll take it! Although the girls in the show don’t think he’s a hunk, so he’s doing something wrong. He’s a mug not a hunk.
