Ryan Phillippe cast in Shooter remake

Ryan Phillippe is set to play a character made famous by Mark Wahlberg as he has been cast to star in the pilot for USA Network's Shooter, which is an adaptation of the 2007 film.

He will portray Bob Lee Swagger, a former Marine sniper who is persuaded to come back into the limelight to prevent the killing of the president. He ends up being double-crossed and framed for the attempted hit and needs to use all of his skills to avoid capture whilst he attempts to find and expose the traitors who set him up.
