The CW announced on October 21, 2014 that it has upped the episode order of it's freshman series 'Jane The Virgin'. The initial order of the new series was 13 episodes. A additional 9 episodes have been ordered, which will mean the show will have 22 episodes.
The series has rated fairly well. The network made the decision after high acclaim from critics and viewers alike.
'Jane the Virgin' follows Jane Villanueva, a young, hard-working Latin woman who has her religious family values, one of which is to stay a virgin until she is married. Temptations do occasionally rise between Jane and her long time boyfriend, Detective Brett Dier, but Jane does remain true her values. Jane's life and her relationship with Brett is tested when a doctor accidentally artificially inseminates her during a routine examination. Further complications arise when the donor turns out to be Jane's boss and former crush - a rich, married, hotel owner who also happens to be the brother of the doctor.
