A number of casting announcements have been made in the last few days, regarding our favorite returning US shows. Here is a round-up of who's been announced and what show they will be appearing in;
It has been confirmed that Brandon Routh will portray recurring character Ray Palmer in the third season of 'Arrow'. In the comic books Ray Palmer is also the alias of superhero The Atom. Ray will play an important role in the lead characters life in the upcoming season as he becomes the new owner of Queen Consolidated. It will be the first time the character of the Atom will be seen in a live-action project.
In the latest in an ongoing 'Glee' saga of news, (this isn't a hack), Naya Rivera will reportedly be appearing in the upcoming sixth and final season of the show, but only in a recurring capacity. Naya has played cheerleader, Santana Lopez on the show since the first season and had apparently asked the producers to downgrade her role, amidst rumors of a feud between herself and show star Lea Michele.
Wes Bentley has also been confirmed to be guest-starring in the fourth season of 'American Horror Story'. The show's latest season will have the subtitle 'Freak Show' and will feature the 35 year old actor playing the character of Eddie in the show's two-part halloween episode. Not much detail has been revealed about the character, other then him been hell-bent on exacting revenge.
Taye Diggs will be heading to the sixth season of 'The Good Wife' appearing in a recurring capacity as Dean-Levine Wilkins. Dean will play the part of a equity partner at Lockhart/Gardner, but decides to join Florrick/Agos alongside Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski).
It has also been announced that Courtney Love will feature in multiple episodes of the final season of 'Sons of Anarchy'. In what will be Love's tv acting debut, she will play the role of Ms Harrison, the preschool teacher of Jax's eldest son, Abel. She will first be introduced in the fourth episode of the season.
Next to 'Once Upon A Time' and this is a big update. First of Giancarlo Esposito will reportedly be returning in the fourth season premiere of the show playing the character Sidney Glass, aka Magic Mirror. No further details have been announced at this point, regarding the characters reapparance, but a number of guest cast and recurring roles for the upcoming season have been announced. The third season of the show ended with a un-named actress portraying Elsa, the lead character of the Disney animated film 'Frozen' as she walked down a path, with her face unseen. The actress playing the part in the next season has now been announced, with Georgina Haig confirmed as taking on the role. Rounding out the Ice Queen's family and friends will be Elizabeth Lail as her sister Anna and Scott Michael Foster as the hero of the tale, Kristoff. Elizabeth Mitchell has also been cast in a 'Frozen' related role, but further details of whom she will play are yet to be released.
Now back into the warmth and fellow TVRage writer Van Troughton reported earlier this week, that Robbie Amell will be playing Firestorm in the first season of 'The Flash'. The character will reportedly play a pivotal role in the Flash gaining his powers.
Next to 'The Millers' and 'Will & Grace' (and probably to a much, much lesser extent 'Sean Saves the World') fans can rejoice as Sean Hayes has been confirmed to be starring in the upcoming second season of the show. Hayes will appear as Kip Withers, Carol's (Margo Martindale) best friend and will reportedly clash with her son Nathan (Will Arnett).
Finally we can report Gina Gershon will be appearing as a guest star in the upcoming third season of 'Elementary'. Gina will play Elana March, a socialite who is at first suspected of running a drug cartel but soon turns into Joan Watson's (Lucy Liu) rival when things get personal between the two characters.
