Discovery Kids was launched in 1996 as part of the Discovery Communications. It was also aired as a block on NBC Saturday mornings from 2002-06 until NBC ended their partnership with Discovery Communications. They program entertaining shows for children dealing with science, nature and wildlife. Their schedule includes first run original series such as
Flight 29 Down,
Endurance,
Tutenstein and
Bindi the Jungle Girl starring Bindi Irwin, the daughter of the late "Crocodile Hunter"
Steve Irwin, continuing on with his legacy. There are also versions of Discovery Kids in countries across the seas.
