E!, Entertainment Television originally launched on July 31, 1987 as Movietime, a low budget station whose schedule consisted of movie trailers, entertainment news and interviews. Some early Movietime personalities include Greg Kinnear and Paula Abdul. In June 1990 Movietime was renamed E!: Entertainment Television while broadening its daily content to include updated news breaks as well as Hollywood gossip and fashion. Walt Disney Company's interest in E! as well as sister stations Style and G4. In 2005, E! reported on the Michael Jackson trial. Since no cameras were allowed in the court house, E! used actors to reenact the days events of the trial. The E! original series all revolve around reality based shows such as The Simple Life, The Girls Next Door, Dr. 90210 and The Soup.
