Every day, members of the Nogales Police Department's Border K-9 Unit risk their lives doing their jobs: fighting one of the most notorious drug cartels along the border between the United States and Mexico. The team, accompanied by highly trained canines, patrols the border along Nogales, AZ, and Nogales, Mexico, in search of smuggled narcotics, weapons, cash and coyotes (also known as smuggled people). Nogales, a small town now at the dead center of a drug war, is home to more than 20,000 people. In order to protect their town, officers search everywhere from abandoned homes to construction sites for potential smugglers, sometimes wondering if they'll make it home alive.
"Law on the Border", premiering August 19, at 11 PM E/P on Animal Planet, dives headfirst into the field of the Border K-9 Unit's work. Join the team as they encounter all types of drug-related issues along the town's three-mile, 20-foot high border fence. This is not typical police work. With the help of their canine companions, these law enforcement officers are cracking down on the drug war, with strong hopes of protecting the town they love (Source: Animal Planet)
