National Geographic just initiated the first episode of this Canadian show on Jan. 23rd. I thought it was a new series, which I suppose it is to viewers in the U.S., but learned it has been out since the fall of 2012 in Canada. I found this show very interesting and entertaining. Very minimal creative drama and over-production. The equipment that the tow operators use is first class, well maintained, and the drivers know what they are doing. Beautiful Canadian scenery, difficult conditions for truckers during the difficult winter season. It's nice to see a reality show with professionals acting like professionals, and results that aren't overly staged. I hope they can keep up the quality of the show through successive episodes. I read where this show was renewed for another season. If this first episode is typical of the next few shows, it deserves to run another year. It's a real credit to the tow truck companies that have to work in such severe operating conditions. Thanks for the producers for not going overboard with fake truck horns, over the top drama, etc., and just bringing some hard hitting factual showings of the difficult jobs the tow companies have under such rough conditions. If only "Highway to Hell", the story of towing in Donner Pass in California, had been done to this level of quality. It was a big disappointment with so much drama and infighting taking place among the tow employees, with the actual work taking a back seat to the cutthroat operators and their drama. I'm anxious to see the next episodes. The show is on Wednesday evenings at 10 in California. Thanks to Natl. Geo. for making this show available.
