Series already affected:

Heroes ("Generations" finale being re-filmed to serve as a season finale if the strikes go ahead on Monday)

Heroes: Origins (on hold until the strike action is stopped or ends)

The Daily Show

Films for 2009 rushed into production and assigned writers:

Transformers II
Spider-Man 4

More will probably come. The strikes begin Monday, so there's still time for this to be resolved.

So, Matt Stone and Trey Parker are not in the Writer's Guild of America?

If I go crazy then will you still call me Superman?

SP is likely finished with creating this seasons eps. anyways, same with Simpson's and all animated series since it takes a long time to create on episode.

Comedy writers for Late night talk shows, Daily Show and Colbert Report will be the first to feel its affect since they write their stuff each day. Saturday Night Live should be affected too by next weeks show. Most shows are already filmed for a few months in advance, so scripted shows may not feel a big pressure for awhile yet.

I remember when they had one in the late 80's during the Summer. That sucked cause the new season ended up starting a month late. They had the holiday episodes around the 6th or 7th episode of the season instead of 12 or 13th. You can see it if you buy a dvd set from a show during that season.

Naw, I don't think so. They're more than likely making Wednesday's episode right now. And this late in the season they probably don't have very many backup episodes left.

Yup. Simpsons episodes are animated in Korea. South Park episodes are written and created week by week. That's why it can do those up to the minute episodes.

Like when Saddam was found in the hole, a few days later he was in a South Park episode hiding in a hole.

I believe the writers union are looking to get a share of DVD sales and other digital media sales but the group they attempted to negotiate with (the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers) didn't want to budge.

It's a good thing I don't watch those shows listed. The writers of shows have a lot of power, imagine if all writers on all shows decided to strike. What would happen to our entertaintment. We'd be stuck with re-runs.

just wait for the next "big" strike next year, it'll be the end of the world as we know it

but seriously, i blame both parties. the writers for being kinda greedy (But then again i don't blame them) and the AOMPATP for their stubborness.

I'm going to be really bummed when Chuck, Heroes, Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, Pushing Daisies, and Ghost Whisperer run out of new episodes to air. I guess if it gets that far I can just catch up on the shows I have on DVD.
