Perplexed about how to set something up on the site? Want to know what the proper format is for entering data? Ever wonder why a certain format is the standard? Ask your questions in this thread and we’ll discuss the topic.
When the staff agrees on a format rule, we will post it in the Official Format Rules thread. |

I often see, in people guides, the height listed in the trivia section and not within the "main" portion of the guide. Is this because the height blurb was added later in the "main" part? |

Yes, but also some people add that information into Trivia or the Biography without looking at the Main Info fields first. |

I think that should be in the Official Format Rules. Only list height under "main" for people guides. |

Can you specify how Awards are supposed to be formatted? Also, should nominations be added? |

You can't, this site does not have downloads of any kind. |

Well it really wouldn't be neccesary. You can just...stop coming to the site.
If you really want to have your account removed, you can message the webmaster, Sebrioth, and ask him to. Or a Global Moderator, like myself, could ban you from being able to login. |

The database does not seem to support re-broadcasts of new daates/times, channel changes, etc (i.e., maintenance of historical broadcast data)...?
Please advise -- how should the following kinds of chages be made to the database?
1 - RE-BROADCASTS (NEW DATE/TIME): i.e., "Ashes to Ashes" was originally broadcast in 2008 on Thursdays, and is being re-aired starting 3/7/2009 on Saturdays.
2 - RE-AIRING ON NEW NETWORK: i.e., "Star Wars: The Clone Wars (Animated Series)" is being rebroadcast from the beginning on TNT (previously on CartoonNetwork), starting 2/14@11pm. (http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20090130/tv_nm/us_clone)
These changes affect whether the episodes show up new/upcoming in 3rd-party applications which use TVRage's database, like "TV Forecast" (http://www.bigbucketblog.com/tv/)
WHAT IS THE POLICY FOR HOW THESE SHOULD BE HANDLED?
I use "TV Forecast" on my iPhone to "note" upcoming shows (more than 7 days in the future) for which I see ads and promos, but are not yet programmable on my DVR (which has only 7 days of guide info), in order to remind me to add them to my DVR when they are within 7 days of broadcasting... So, I often come across show titles which are either not in the TVrage database at all or are inaccurate or are missing data and do not show upcoming air date info. I have modified show entries in the past for this, but I am not sure I am doing it in the preferred way?!?!
Maybe we could start a special Forum topic for posting such findings, so that someone more "senior" than I could address them? |

We do not note repeats in our database. We only list the original airdate in each country.
So we will not have the info from your #2 about a show that is being repeated on another network in the same country.
However, Ashes to Ashes is a British program and the Saturday airings beginning in March are for BBCAmerica in the US. So although the main information will remain the info for its UK airings, we can add "alternate airdates" for the US. In the case of Ashes to Ashes, these US airdates are already input. See the first episode as an example--it says Other Release Dates: USA - March 7, 2009. |

I couldn't post a minibio of a guest actor for a show because the form requires a submission note. What sort of info goes into a submission note?

the Submission Note is mostly there in case you are updating info, if you are updating existing stuff then just write a short reason why you are updating it.
When submitting stuff to a guide that has an Editor it is good to name your source, so they can double check the information.

Why are you submitting a minibio at the show level? if there's a link to the cast, and the guest actor is listed as guest cast, then submitting the minibio on the actor's page would be the way to go.
Otherwise... wouldn't every episode page have to be filled with minibios of every actor. And every actor have their minibio on every episode page where they appear? |

Hi. I´m needing someone to help me with a subbing work. The episode is from Medabots (48th episode - calm before the storm) I need to know what is saying one of "the screws". Here´s the episode link on you tube
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S1V44wF1yqQ
The line that I need comes from a part of the video where "the screws" are dancing a sort of song. When they end the song, they start having an argue and one of the 3 kids says: "¡Oh dammit! Leave me alone, I didn´t wanna be... (something). If you understand that something from the video, please let me know. That part of the video comes at like 7:15 |
