At first I thought "hey this movie looks pretty stupid." But now for some reason I'm extremely psyched about it.
Other opinions? Anyone read the book? |

looks incredible, but I can't shake the feeling it might be all style and no substance with Zach Syndyr involved... |

I hate raining on everyones parade, but I don't think it'll be that great. Judging from the preview, Zach Synder has made everything look way to corny, and flashy. I don't think audiences are going to be able to catch all the psychological elements from the film that the novel has. I'm already hypersensitive that some of the costumes were modified.
Watchmen is seriously one of the greatest graphic novels around. I'd highly recommend picking it up. Even if you're not into graphic novels, it is worth checking out. Trust me. I just don't think a movie will give it the justice that it deserves.
Just my opinion though. I really hope that I'm wrong. I'll most likely be one of the nerdy people who will go to see it opening day during the midnight showing. |

Well I like the flash of the movie I'm more worried about how 3 generations of story is going to be squeezed into a 1 and a half or 2 hour movie. At the bare minimum they need the 2 and a half hours batman got to tell the complete story. I have to agree I don't think the film will be great like batman if anything it'll be just another money maker like the spirit but as we can all see a few months later forgettable. |

All of the Black Freighter and Under the Hood stuff is going to DVD release only. Some of the back history will be montage style in the opening credits.
And it is supposed to run about 2-1/2 hours.
New sneak preview of it tonight during Fringe. |

Eh...I saw it last night at the midnight showing, and I really wasn't that impressed. Maybe if they hadn't traded dialog and actual storyline for intensified fighting/sex scenes, I'd be happier. They also cut a ton of stuff out.
That's all I'm going to say for right now, unless anyone wants me to go into more details. I take it that most people, at this time, haven't watched it yet. |

Seen it
8/10
Pretty good, might've been better with a more disciplined director. And I didn't like the changed ending... |

I saw it. The acting (especially Rorshack) was fantastic. The special effects were top-notch. The violence was necessary so I was okay with it, the sex was a little much.
Definitely worth the price of the ticket though ABSOLUTELY NOT FOR CHILDREN!!!

I didnt care much for how Synder directed it, it felt like a glorified cos-play tribute act than a real attempt at simply trusting the story to flow more freely, instead Synder rams it down your throat that this is an iconic graphic novel. Lord of the Rings certaingly didnt ram down the fact it was a book with multiple appendixes down my throat, and the story and characters were allowed to transcend and be entirely relatable. I didnt relate to any of the charatcers, and Rorsarch's p***-poor Christian Bale Batman imitation had me in stitches for all the wrong reasons
The changed ending ticked me off. That ending was there for a reason and by taking it out and making it more "reallistic", you change the whole spirit and point of the story.
Good for people as an introduction to Watchmen, but it's not a movie for fans who "get" or respect Watchmen. The only thing it lives up to is Alan Moore's commentary on commercialism over message. |

Good movie better than I thought but made me hearken for the days of film adaptation being plastered over movies based on books. The changing of the ending and all the sex really took the full impact out of the story. The actors and the great source material saved this one. I loved Rorsarch didn't think of Batman at all loved the character too much to be distracted by his voice I suppose. |
