Don't read this tagline! You read it, didn't you?

I was just wondering:

Is it really necessary to have all those repetitive sentences in a series main page? Let me give an example: "CSI: Miami TV Show - CSI: Miami Television Series :: CSI: Miami TV Series".

I mean, isn't those sentences the exact same thing and just a waste of space? Wouldn't it be better with something like "CSI: Miami TV Show..." and then the information about the guide (Summary/Synopsis etc.)

Who agrees and who doesn't?

I think the repetition is for search engine purposes. The more you say something, like "clok parts", the more likely you'll be higher on the list. Other factors go into search engines, but that is just one of them, and for a smaller site, like TVRage, we need all the help we can get. If someone typed in "CSI: Miami Television Series" into Google, it would be the 4th result, right after TV.com, Wikipedia, and CBS.com. All three are big sites, so 4th is pretty good, for just that particular search term.

So it isn't necessary (and IMO, looks kind of stupid, from a reader aspect), but it is necessary if we want higher ranks in search engines.

Does repeating it more on the same page help?

Yeah, I want that answered too. Does it really help by repeating it more on the same page?

CSI: Miami TV Show
CSI: Miami Television Series
CSI: Miami TV Series

there is the answer, if you search those words on a search engine tvrage ranks pretty high on the first page, now we are working on getting the single phrase "CSI: Miami" ranked higher
