Farm Aid

"Farm Aid" was the brainchild of John Mellencamp, Neil Young and Willie Nelson that began based on comments that Bob Dylan had made earlier in the year at the "Live Aid" concert. The very first "Farm Aid" concert was held on 25 September 1985 at the University of Illinois' Memorial Stadium in Champaign, Illinois which was held to raise money for family farmers in the U.S. Many of the all-time great artists of the time performed live in front of over 85,000 people and they raised over 9 Million Dollars. The following year at "Farm Aid '86" the concert was broadcast for the first time on multiple TV stations at the same time live. This event has been going strong for many, many years but in 1988 & 1991 no concert was held. This years' concert in 2014 will be the 28th that has been held since its inception and is being broadcast live on axsTV.
