This show began in 1952 originally titled "House Party". Sometime over the next few years it was renamed to “Art Linkletter's House Party” and sometimes shown in syndication years later titled “The Linkletter Show”. This variety show had many different special guests, there would be games sometimes and near the end of his show what was considered the most popular part of the show where Art would interview young school children. The best part of this interview portion of the show was when Art would ask them questions and sometimes get the most strange, outrageous but very funny answers from them. The show would become one of the longest running daytime Variety shows in TV History running from 1952 to 1970. The end segment of the show with the children would be the pre-cursor to the show “Kids Say the Darndest things” that Art co-hosted with Actor/Comedian “Bill Cosby” in 1989.
