Round One has been chosen by Jimmy Iovine, round two has been chosen by the judges and the final round will be the production picks.
First up for the night is Kree Harrison. She comes out and sings “Perfect” by Pink. Afterwards, Keith says that the song choice showed that she is still a Country girl and says that was interesting. Nicki says that the quality of her voice is always warm, but it felt short to her. She says that she needs to have flat boots and give it all she has. Randy says that he didn’t love the song for her. He says that it felt a little flat for him. Mariah says that was an interesting song choice by Jimmy. She says that she was connected, but knows that she will give her everything.
Next up is Candice Glover. She comes out and sings “One” by U2. Afterwards, Nicki says that she is on her way and says that she did that song justice. Randy says that was a great choice for her and says that everything may not have been perfect, but it conveyed the emotional connection. Mariah says she always brings things to the table and says that they felt it. She says that she will realize her dreams. Keith says that he loved that she has so much power. It may have been sharp in a few spots, but she was flying.
The first round ends with Angie Miller. She comes out and sings “Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word” by Elton John. Afterwards, Randy says that she did a great job holding back on the song and says that he really liked it. Mariah says that she felt that this was one of the best because she lost herself in the song. Keith says that he would have been happy had she held back even more. He says that she needed to choose the moments. Nicki says that there have been performances where she hits her heart. She says that the performance didn't do that. However, she is bringing it to win this competition. Jimmy says that the round one went to Angie.
The next round kicks off and first up is Candice Glover. They look at the video of her time in her home town where she got to see her old boss at the Travel Agency. When she got home, Candice and her family got emotional. They went to a historical place where Candice got to meet a big crowd. She performed in front of a huge crowd and the Governor named May 4th as Candice Glover Day. She comes out on stage and sings “Next To Me” by Emile Sunday. Afterwards, Mariah says that she felt like she went home with her and says that she was rejuvenated in her town. Keith says that the opening lyrics were great and says that she was in the zone. Nicki says that the video was emotional and says that she has come out swinging. She says that she is proud of her. Randy says that they all know what the struggle is like and says that was amazing vocally.
Up next is Angie Miller. They look at the video of her time in her home town. She got to be on Fox 25 and do the weather. She got to go to see her friends and go to an the Elementary School that she went to. She got to go home and perform in front of a huge crowd. She comes out and sings “Try” by Pink. Afterwards, Keith says that he loved that and says that she looked so comfortable. Nicki says that she believed every single word and says that she needs to go home more often. Randy says that it was an amazing song and says that fit her like a glove. Mariah says that she is festive and says that she agrees that she performed it like no other.
Last up for the second round is Kree Harrison. They look at the video of Kree going home where she got to go home and hug her family. She got to go home to the house where her parents raised her and her sister. She lost her parents when she was young. She got to go to a rodeo and rode a mechanical bull. She got to perform in front of a huge crowd. She comes out and sings “Here Comes Goodbye” by Rascall Flatts. Afterwards, Nicki says that she can’t deny the power of a true emotional trigger. She says that she is so proud of her. Randy says that they love all of them and says that she sang her heart out. Mariah says that there is something about her in general and says that she is surprised that she could perform that after watching the video. Keith says that it was the perfect song and she had him from beginning to the end. Jimmy says that Kree won that round.
The final round kicks off with Angie Miller. She comes out and sings “Maybe” by Emile Sunday. Afterwards, Randy says that she sang her heart out and says that she became a complete performer. Mariah says that the emotion was there and felt that she has nothing negative about that song. Keith says that she is finding her groove and says that she could sing a song under the piano next week. Nicki says that her growth has surpassed her expectations. As long as she feels it, they are going to feel it.
Kree Harrison comes out and sings “Better Dig Two” by The Band Perry. Afterwards, Mariah says that she loves to hear the pain and raw emotion. Keith says that he likes the song, but doesn’t know if that is the place for her. Nicki says that is not her comfort zone and says that the person who chose that song should be stoned. Randy says that she is a superstar and everyone knows it.
Last up for the night is Candice Glover. She comes out and sings “Somewhere” from West Side Story. Afterwards, she gets a standing ovation. Keith says that if people don’t vote for her, then they don’t have a pulse. Nicki says that they will see her next week. Randy says that was so great and says congratulations. Mariah says that was her parent’s song and it was great. That is it for the performances!
