From Cape Town to Cairo, young Australian filmmaker Michael Davie travels 8,500 km overland through some of Africa's most volatile and spectacular territories, armed only with a video camera and a rucksack. As a childhood exile from Zimbabwe's guerilla war of independence, Michael returns to begin a journey into the lives and dreams of African youth.

Michael crosses the border into Kenya in search of the Masai. He befriends a young Masai woman who reveals her modern Masai life and attitudes to relationships, while working at a five-star hotel and studying to be a lawyer.
In Nairobi, the financial hub of East Africa and the playground of the super-rich, Michael parties with Kenya's teenage millionaires before moving on to Ethiopia and Eritrea. He then hops a rusty sardine can up the Nile for the final leg of his journey
