African Skies

Manager Margo Dutton gives up her life in Toronto and moves along with her son Rory to South Africa. There she takes over the management of the Freedom ranch, the African head office of a worldwide operating large-scale enterprise. Boss of this empire is Margo's father-in-law, Sam Dutton, who pulls the strings from Toronto. Margo is supported in her new challenge by her employee Nyasa and her German foreman Raimund Lenz who knows the black continent like his vest pocket. The breathtaking adventure series is shot in Africa, a continent offering not only exotic animals, tropical rain forests and other beauty spots, but also a lot of fun and charm.

In African Skies, Catherine Bach is Margo Dutton, a savvy executive at a multinational corporation run by her father-in-law Sam Dutton, played by motion picture legend Robert Mitchum.
After her husband’'s death, Margo is appointed to head the company’'s African operations and relocates to Africa with her 16-year-old son Rory. Often at odds with her father-in-law’s more traditional approach to business, Margo soon becomes personally involved in the clash of nature and technology in Africa.
In addition to her attempts to find a balance between her company’s growth and the preservation of the region, Margo also faces the new challenges of single-parenting: she must help her teenage son face the difficulties of adolescence in a new context and different culture. Together with their trusty, Africa-wise ranch manager, mother and son experience an unforgettable series of adventures.
Shot on location in Canada and South Africa, African Skies conveys the fascination of the African continent in settings of eye-filling beauty and in many scenes with exotic animals. The producers have deliberately integrated African culture into every show, which helps give the series its strength and uniqueness.
