A Gentleman's Club is a six-episode comedy that aired on BBC2 in 1988. The comedy is about the Albany club, a gentleman’s club, located near Pall Mall. The club is a throwback to the clubs of old, the mostly male only preserves (some ladies nights, in their own dinning rooms, and some female employees) that struggle to survive in today's world. The Albany club struggles to create an air of sophistication while residing in a decaying building, and while having limited funds.
The series was produced and directed by the producer of various British comedies, like
Butterflies, and director of many British comedies, like
As Time Goes By,
Sydney Lotterby.
