Jaye’s family are again concerned with her odd behavior and make another attempt to get her to see Doctor Ron. Jaye has a few run-ins with Heidi that make matters worse. Jaye starts spying on Heidi when the Brass Monkey says, “She’s going to kill him.” In the end, she finally gets the Brass Monkey to tell her why she has been singled out for these odd conversations with inanimate objects.

This is a play on a famous line from the motion picture & stage play A Few Good Men. In the 1992 film, Jack Nicholson’s character Col. Jessep responds to being asked for the truth by shouting, “YOU CAN”T HANDLE THE TRUTH!”

When the brass monkey answers Jaye’s question about why they talk to her (because she listens) it marks the first time that a muse actually answers one of Jaye’s questions. Perhaps if the series had continued, or even had a full 22 episode season, we might have seen a more amicable relationship develop between Jaye and the talking items.
