• "Wipeout" renewed for third season, with more good news!

Announced on July 22nd, 2009, ABC's most popular and skyhigh ratings-series "Wipeout" has been renewed for a third season. The new season, whose casting has already began, will premiere in the Summer of 2010, following the pattern of the show since the very first season. The building of the new obstacle course, which will feature even more hydraulic, mechanical and robotic obstacles, will begin in August and the real filming begins in September.

Plus, Endemol Productions (one of the companies producing the show) has also confirmed that they are kicking around several potential "Wipeout" spin-offs, such as a kids version.

"We've proven that it's not just a one-hit wonder." says Endemol chairman David Goldberg. "It's not only a large-scale stunt competition, but it's also a comedy. 'Wipeout' has found a certain voice and attitude and is the kind of show that families love to watch together."

And according to the skyhigh ratings, which are doing nothing but going up since the premiere of the second season, the chairman is right... It looks like "Wipeout" is here to stay!
