Episode Notes

Robert Romanus, who plays Lenny in this episode, is the real-life husband of W&G writer and executive producer Kari Lizer, who has an uncredited recurring role as Will's secretary Connie.

Though she is obviously in the episode, Cher is not credited in the episode's end credits. Which means her appearance is -- uncredited.

Set Decorator Doug Devine was uncredited as the guy buying ottomans

Jack's Cher doll is a $60,000 prototype of a doll that Mattel sold for a short time in 2001. Co-producer/Creator Max Mutchnick currently owns the doll that was featured in the show.

Episode Quotes

Will: No, no! I don't want to have sex with you!
Jack: Oh, Will that wasn't sex. Okay, how do I explain this? Okay, when a man and a man love each other very much...
Will: No, no...Psychic Sue said I was going to spend the rest of my life with a guy named Jack.
Jack: Jack who?
Will: Jack you!
Jack: Jack me?
Will: No thanks!

Karen: I just wanted to thank you for inviting me. I know that we've had our differences in the past, but when you get right down to it... Oh, look, better people.

Episode Goofs

The first shot of the last scene has the Cher doll seated on a booster seat in the restaurant. The seat is upsidedown and facing forward. The rest of the scene has the booster seat mysteriously turned backwards.

Look hard at the wall in front of the Elevator tha Grace and Karren get in. It's obviously the wall to Grace's office. The set was designed to look like they were getting in at any point.

A couple of the people move around between takes in the background when Lenny has people at Grace's office.

Cultural References

Will: No, although I once got a bee sting, and my lip swelled up like Pamela Anderson Lee.

A funny reference to Pamela Anderson when she was married to drummer Tommy Lee.

Will: Oh, please let it be Bananarama.

Bananarama was a popular band of the early 80's during the modern rock era.

Episode Title: Gypsies, Tramps and Weed

Since the episode does feature Cher, the title of this episode is a play on the title of her song and album "Gypsys, Tramps & Thieves."
