The episode title comes from the incident at Jonestown, in which a cult led by the Reverend Jim Jones simultaneously drank poisoned Kool-Aid so as to commit mass suicide. The term "drinking the Kool-Aid" now usually denotes some sort of cult-like activity and/or describes someone who is believed to have joined a cult. |
