The first season of the world-wide popular TV show The X-Files starts with agent Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) being assigned to work with and write reports on agent Fox Mulder (David Duchovny): a man nicknamed Spooky Mulder, who works in his basement office on the so-called x-files, a collection of old unexplained cases no one cares about. The investigation of these cases takes the agents all around the States to uncover both government consipracies covering alien abductions and weekly paranormal phenomenon.

The show has become known for it's special visual effects and superb acting from the variety of weekly guest stars and especially Anderson and Duchovny, who portrayed the unresolved sexual tension between Mulder and Scully briliantly.

The first season was awarded an Emmy for Outstanding Individual Achievement in Graphic Design and Title Sequences.
