The Venture family takes General Manhowers on a tour of the Venture Compound, and also shows the General Dr. Venture's latest inventions. General Manhowers is less then enthusiastic about Dr. Venture's inventions and gadgets, and doesn't find any of the gadgets to be useful at the time. But General Manhowers gives Dr Venture complements to his brilliance. Dr. Venture faces the possibility of having to sell his house due to financial reasons. At this moment moment of doubt, Dr. Venture has no choice but to sell. But all of a sudden, Dr. Henry Killinger, along with his Magic Murder Bag, appears. Dr. Henry Killinger wants to lend Dr Venture a hand of advice as a "Freelance Business Consultant and Executive Motivational Coach" so that Dr. Venture can get his Scientific groove back and so he doesn't have to sell his house.

Episode Notes
 
An 10 minute rough cut of the episode was aired on Adultswin on April 1st 2008 at 12:15AM along with a new episode of Metalocalypse. It was intended to be an April fools joke. This rough cut had voice and animation (though at times uncompleted animation), it did not have music or any kind of sound effects other then voice work.
 
This episode premiers the complete opening sequence, which is a more or less modified version of the season two opening sequence.
 
Dr. Venture: I'm taking Rocket Engineers, Radar tracking operation managers, super fusion fuel rode insertion specialists–with Ventrillium handling experience....

Ventrillium is a fake element, possibly discovered by Dr.Venture, his father or his brother.
 
Despite a promise by both Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer to use as few Star Wars references in this season, the episode contained at least one.
 
During the credits, animation director Kimson Albert had a nickname added to his credit, which was a line from Dr. Killinger in this episode: "I love mein job!". It reads, Kimson "I love mein job!" Albert.

Hadji Singh and Jonny Quest

Both Hadji and Jonny make an appearance in this episode, though Jonny Quest had been previously seen in the season two episode "Twenty Years to Midnight". This is Hadji 's first appearance.

Both characters are from the popular Hanna-Barbera series "Jonny Quest"
 
Dr. Venture: Uhm... My arch enemy quit. So, lately I've got every Tom, Dick and Skeletor out to make a name for himself knocking on my door.

Skeletor was He-Man's arch-enemy in the hit cartoon show "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe".
 
General Manhowers: Thanks for showing me around Dr. Venture, and for the Fruitopia. Can't remember the last time I had one of those.

Fruitopia is a non-carbonated fruit flavored drink introduced by The Coca-Cola Company in 1994. It was largely targeted for teens and young adults.
 
Pete White: Oh, and FYI, I issued some shares back when we needed cash for the Nintendo Wii.

Nintendo Wii is Nintendo's current gaming console that was released in the United States in November 19, 2006.
 
Dr. Venture: What's in it?
Dr. Killinger: Only what you take with you.

This is a reference to a scene in the well known movie "Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back", where Luke notices something different about a certain place he was in. Yoda tells him to go inside that place, to confront his fears. Luke asks him "what's in there", and Yoda replies "only what you take with you."
 
Dr. Killinger: Richard Nixon said the same thing when I gave him to hi first power tie.

Richard Nixon was the thirty-seventh President of the United States.

Dr. Henry Killinger is based on Dr. Henry Kissinger, whom served under President Nixon as a Security Advisor and as a Secretary of State.
 
Dr. Venture: Well you've got enough of it to print a Kiss comic book with.

Kiss as an American rock band who had starred in a Marvel comic book series in the late 1970's. The first print was contained ink mixed with actual blood donated by the group. In 2007, a new Kiss comic came to works.
 
Dr. Killinger: All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women are players. They have their exits and their entrances, and one man in his time plays many parts, his acts being seven ages.

The last line Dr. Killenger had in this episode was a line from William Shakespeare's play "As You Like It".

 
Dr. Venture: How did I get in here? Why am I naked? Did you slip me a roufo?

Though Dr. Venture mispronounced, he was referring to a "roofie pill", aka the "date rape drug", which street name for Rohypnol. Rohypnol is a powerful sedative, anxiolytic, amnestic, and skeletal muscle relaxant properties used by rapists and other sexual deviants to make there victims loosen up and black out so that they can have their way with them.

Dr. Venture was lying naked inside another room after he woke up, he generally assumed he may have been raped.
 
Disintegrated businessmen

In the scene where Dr. Killinger used his Magic Murder Bag to disintegrate the three businessmen into different color dust could be a reference to the 1966 Batman movie (aka "Batman: The Movie"), where the Joker had a disintegrator gun he used to disintegrate several political figure, all of which had different color dust attributed to them after being disintegrated.
 
Dr. Jonas Venture Sr.: What ya eating there sport?
Dr. Rusty Venture: Alpha Dogs!

The cereal Dr. Venture was eating during the flashback scene was called "Alpha Dog" , this is a spoof on Alpha-Bits. Alpha-Bits is a breakfast cereal made by Post Cereals. The cereal shaped inn the form of letters.
 
Dr. Venture's new costume.

The costume, specifically the pair of glasses (or goggles), Dr. Killinger gives and makes Dr. Venture wear has a resemblance to DC supervillain Captain Cold, who also wears the same style goggle/glasses. Also, still inside the DC comics universe, the remainder of Dr. Venture's costume is vaguely reminiscent of Lex Luthor's costume before the "Crisis on Infinite Earths" series.

The line recorded by Dr. Killinger inside Dean's bed-pod was partly a quote from the controversial movie, "The Secret"

This is the second time and episode where Dr. Killinger attempts to help out the life of Dr. Venture and his family. The first time being in the season two episode "I Know Why the Caged Bird Kills", where he attempted to reunite Dr. Venture with his ex-love interest, and mother of Dean and Hank, Myra Brandish.
