Episode Quotes

Monarch: With you two in my clutches I finally have your father right where I want him.
Hank: What's your problem with our dad anyway?
Monarch: Well... uh, he... he's my nemesis. My arch enemy.
Dean: I don't think pop thinks your his arch enemy.
Monarch: Come on, I'm sure the walls of the Venture Compound are practically caked with the lingering curses of the Monarch's name.
Dean: Uh, no. I've never even heard him mention you.

Brock: Hey Doc, how'd your speech thing go?
Dr. Venture: Alright I suppose. One or two of the students really seemed to grasp... you don't really care do you.
Brock: Nay.

Mexican University Administrator: Your check Dr. Venture. Mucho Gracious.
Dr. Venture: Super Good. Very Generous of... oh, pesos. Great, these zeros are meaningless.

Brock: You get the boys, I'll take care of these guys.
Dr. Venture: Are you sure? There's an awful lot of them.
Brock: They hit me with a truck!

Dean and Hank: Dad!
Dean: We knew you wouldn't let us down.
Hank: Just in the nick of time too. Monarch was getting all creepy uncle on us.

Dean: Well, take a look at old H.E.L.P.eR. there; he's pretty beat up, don't you think?
Hank: Well sure. He looks like a dried up turd on a bad stretch of road, why?

Episode Goofs

While laying in the tub of ice, Dr. Venture's legs are bare. However, when he climbs out, Dr. Venture is wearing pants again.

When Hank leans back from Dr. Venture's shoulders and asked if the Monarch butterfly are poisonous, his eyebrow color changes from the usual black to his hair color.

When the Monarch Mobile is seen from a distance, it appears that there is a roof of some sort on the cab of the vehicle. But during the close-ups of the driver the roof is gone.

It was shown earlier that when HELPeR was used as a temporary dialysis machine for Dr. Venture, that one of the two tubes attached to them was blood going to HELPeR and the other from HELPeR. We later see Dr. Venture ingesting tequila at Brock's supposed grave. While he ingests the tequila, the tequila goes through directly to both of the two tubes connected to HELPeR at the same time.

Cultural References

Dr. Venture: What the hell was that?
Brock: Chupacabra. There all over Mexico.
Dr. Venture: No way.

The chupacabra is an urban legend vampire-like creature, which sucks the blood out of various animals (namely livestock). It's name literally translates to "goat-sucker" and sightings are mainly reported in South and Central American countries.

Dia de los Muertos

The title of the episode is a parody of the Mexican holiday Dia de los Muertos, or "Day of the Dead". Traditionally held in Latin countries, the holiday is a chance for families to visit the graves of deceased loved ones in order to honor their memory.

Dean: Leave the thinking to me Albert Einsteen.

Dean actually means Albert Einstein, the German physicist most known for creating the theory of relativity.

The Monarch: Underbhiet!?! Why that dime store Dr. Doom isn't fit to... just you wait til your father calls me back!

Baron Ünderbhiet, in later episodes, we see has the canon resemblance to Marvel super villain Dr. Doom. Both Baron Ünderbhiet and Dr. Doom were similar costumes and they also have a diplomatic immunities
