• Jay Leno's Retirement From Tonight Show Set, Whether He is Ready or Not - NBC |
NBC has set a mandatory retirement date for Jay Leno, May 29, 2009, whether he is ready to or not according to NBC. Conan O'Brien will be waiting in the wings to take over Jay's chair on June 1. Jimmy Fallon will take over Conan's place on Late Night sometime in the spring, after his predecessor steps down around March or April so he can make his move from New York to LA. The show will run reruns until Fallon is up to speed in the new assignment.

| Though Leno has definitely been on the job too long I'm not sure Conan is the answer as his successor. |
