| Shows is OK, but it is past its prime.

Like most US shows, anyone that reaches the 8th year or about 250 episodes, tend to lose some of there magic that they had. Weather it is the quality of the episode, lack of material, lose of funny, stuff like that.
Simpson's is really no different in this case either. There material has sort of fallen behind now the current times. There comedy is still stuck in the mid 1990's. America's comedy has changed enough to the point where some of this stuff only seems to laugh at from that time. Also they sort of ran out of material for the show. Mainly because they have been stuck in one time for many years.
I'm not saying they should age, I think they should, but that isn't as important as other things I think. They need to current times, they still use the old stuff. It would help if they have one or two characters die, that are major. The show could come back, maybe the movie would be a good place to end this show, well it goes as a great show, before it goes as a show that only people remember as ok.
