There's a bright side, if the show ends, I won't have anymore mounting guidework to do. But nah I want to see it rebound. Although I don't think it will.

they should make it to 500 episodes. not 493. it'd be just 7 more episodes.

I would love it if The Simpsons made it to 500 episodes!

Don't read this tagline! You read it, didn't you?

The thing I'm worried about isn't if the show is going to quit, but the voices behind the characters. What if they get in a car accident, what if they don't sign the contract for future seasons, what if they are bored of voicing for 20 years (I wouldn't... but then again, I haven't)

As long as the series keeps being popular and stays at or over a decent viewer numbers, I think it will live on! I just wish FOX could renew for 3 or more seasons at a time, so we could rest knowing it would be on TV at least until we were 3 years older. I don't find renewing it for 2 seasons very convincing, as many spinoff-shows get that initially and then end suddenly.

Oh, but another problem is of course all the original plotlines for episodes. It's hard to come up with original and cool storylines when over 490 already are taken.

A tagline is a terrible thing to waste.

I believe a contract was signed for at least two more seasons. Anyway, maybe it's time to put this puppy to sleep. Top five lowest watched episodes were all in season 20. This show's just not popular anymore.

Oh, really? According to that, The Simpsons will exist for season 22 and 2010-2011. That's nice, but if it really is going down-hill, it's very sad for a lot of people (including me...
By the way, the expression you used, "put this puppy to sleep", is kind of a bad choice of words. I know some people that really love the show and I know that they would be devastated if that expression was used for example by FOX and the show was cancelled. Just sayin'.

i cant beleive ive watched this show for over half my life. even if it ends, i hope to god they make it at 500 episodes. then NO SHOW will EVER beat that record. i mean, its like someone going into the book of world record and doing something just a LITTLE more than the previeus holder (IE: that episode of icarly, the record holder for longest webshow was just under 24 hours... it stupid to stop JUST SHORT of a ground breaking record!

I agree if only for the fact that I've never seen a 20 year old puppy.
