Jeffery Grant, the man who was taken in for a breathalyser, calls Lockhart-Gardner looking for Alicia. She had previously covered a case for his father. Will takes the call and asks how he can help. Jeffery has been waiting an hour for the breathalyser and Will agrees to come help him. Before he leaves he asks the other employees to get along. Diane and David Lee talk about an upcoming case that had been signed by Alicia.
At Alicia's home, she talks to Cary about possible office spaces to rent. Zach walks through the house and notices a green light on the webcam. It goes off when h investigates further. He asks Grace if she used the computer but she didn't. A man delivers a subpoena to Alicia. She is being served because Lockhart-Gardner is being sued and she is a witness.
Will meets with Jeffery at the police station. Jeffery points out the arresting officer to Will and says the woman standing next to him was in the patrol car as well. Will asks about previous offenses and says it will be okay. He gets up to talk to the woman that was in the police car, Geneva Pine. Will asks why they did a DNA swab and still haven't done a breathalyser. Geneva claims that due to his past offense they were allowed to do a DNA swab. Will returns to Jeffery and asks him to take a pocket breathalyser. He suspects that Geneva is after something else.
In court, Will shows the judge the breathalyser test but Geneva claims they are now arresting Jeffery for murder. They had no leads until Jeffery's father was arrested and his DNA was a familial match found on the corpse. Will says they must let Jeffery go but the judge decides to hold him for 48 hours until Geneva charges him.
Alicia arrives at Lockhart-Gardner and the receptionist runs to get Diane. They meet in a room along with David Lee. Lockhart-Gardner is being sued by an adoption family and Diane asks if she told the client what she had found out. Alicia will testify for Diane only if she gets her capital contribution of $150,000 refunded. Diane asks what her testimony will be but Alicia wants the cheque first.
Clarke Hayden arrives at Florrick-Agos and tells them that their financials are not good. Zach interrupts the meeting to tell Alicia that someone has hacked her computer and is spying on her using the webcam. Hayden finds them talking and says he knows someone who can help them out. They want to use the webcam to spread false information.
Will, Diane and Kalinda meet Jeffery at the prison. They promise to look into rumors of a professor dating the murdered girl and say they will attack this case from all sides. Kalinda asks about the men in his family. He says that his Uncle Jim visited last year to help with his computer. Will hands him his textbooks and says he will do his best. On their way out Kalinda thinks that he did it. Diane says that she thinks that he did something but isn't sure what.
Carter Schmidt questions Alicia, on camera, in front of David Lee and Diane. He asks why she let the family continue on their adoption path even though they wouldn't be allowed to adopt. Diane thinks the meeting is over but Carter has evidence that looks like Alicia attempted to bribe the Chippewa Nation in order to make them not object to the adoption. Alicia is surprised by this news but doesn't pass the blame onto Diane, as Carter suggests.
Will attempts to talk with professor Delaney but he's brushed off. Owen Cavanaugh recognizes Will and they stop to talk. Will asks if Owen knows Delaney and they go to Owen's office. He speaks of rumors that any student had over a B+ were invited to his house for dinner. It was said that the students were encouraged to hook up while there. Will asks if Jeffery was a part of this B+ club and Owen says he was and asks how Alicia is. Owen is shocked to hear that she left to form her own firm. Will says he has no idea what happened.
Kalinda shows up at Jeffery's uncle Jim's house. She asks about his connection to the murder and he knows that she is looking for male DNA. He shows her a photo of himself pre-op. Jeffery doesn't know that Jim was once a woman. There's something else Jeffery doesn't know, that he has a half brother.
David calls Alicia to tell her that since she became a partner midway through the adoption case, she is liable for the $6,000,000 that Lockhart-Gardner is being sued for. Alicia tells her team the news and they promise to help her out with it. She goes to answer the door and finds Owen there. He states that Will told him about the new law firm. Owen thinks that the reason she left was because she was afraid of getting close to Will. Grace interrupts because she's looking for Zach. Her webcam has also been hacked.
Clarke tells Cary that he worked the books at Lockhart-Gardner and he knows everything. He may be able to help her with the lawsuit.
Carter tells David that there is one more witness to talk to, Clarke. He was privy to Lockhart-Gardner's books and claims that Alicia wasn't in charge of the books for the adoption case. Clarke states that David was legally responsible for supervising the adoption case.
Kalinda calls Will to inform him that she has found Jeffery's half brother. She questions the half-brother, Anderson Prickett, to see if management is treating him good. She asks where he was on the 15th of August and he pushes past her and runs away. She picks up a piece of gum that he spit out.
Zach does a Google search for Grace and finds a website that sells videos of her from her webcam. He walks into Grace's room and unplugs her computer.
Alicia overhears David say that he knows who sent the cheque. Will sees her and they stare at each other for a few seconds before he continues on. She listens to David again and he says that Anthony Wright Edelman was the one who sent out the bribe.
Back at Alicia's office, Anthony admits that he sent the bribe but he had consulted with Howard Lyman. He says that Howard was the one who approved the bribe.
Grace calls Zach into her room when the webcam light comes on again. He tells her to start undressing and keep the hacker watching while uses a device to track the connection.
Geneva calls Will and wants to make a bargain. He leaves to meet with her but is stopped by Owen. He tells Will that Alicia left because she was afraid of falling in love with Will. Owen just wants her to be happy and says the two of them are in a pointless war. Alicia and Peter aren't set in stone but Will says it's over.
Zach confronts a boy named Styles at school. He punches Styles and warns him to stop spying on Grace. The two get in a fight and Zach knocks him out. Grace watches from a distance.
Will tells Jeffery that Geneva will try to give him a bad deal. She offers him a two year sentence but Will instructs him not to answer right now. After Geneva leaves, Will asks if Jeffery is guilty in any way. Jeffery claims that he is innocent so Will tells him to reject the deal. After talking to Jeffery, Will visits Geneva in her office. She states that the DNA from the body is a 100% match to Jeffery and not the half brother.
Carter questions Anthony about the bribe that was sent during the adoption case. He states that he sent the cheque at Alicia's request. Alicia asks him what he's doing but she is warned not to interrupt. After the questioning, Diane welcomes Anthony back to the company.
Will meets with Jeffery and asks how his DNA could have got on the the body. He still claims innocence but Will promises to do his best to get him out. He just needs Jeffery to stay strong and not give up.
Alicia returns home and Clarke tells her that even without office space her company is sinking. Clarke asks to be hired and says he will get them on their feet financially. He offers to work for free until the firm is profitable. Alicia thanks him and welcomes him to the company. She notices Zach and asks what happened to his face. Zach claims it was just a baseball injury. Grace thanks him for helping her.
