Thirty four year old Gary McCullough has been suffering from drug addiction for the past four years. It has taken away his money, his career and now his family. His only mission in life these days is where he will get his next fix. When he is not shooting up with his girlfriend, Ronnie, Gary searches the neighborhood for anything that will make him money to buy drugs with, including stolen appliances and scrap metal. He will do anything to get what his body believes he needs.

DeAndre has been dealing drugs since he was 13 years old. Although he's struggling just to pass 9th grade, he continues to hand out with his girlfriend Tyreeka. He ends up getting into a fight with his mother, Fran, and decides to leave home and go and live with his father, Gary.

3 :01x03 - Fran's Blues (Apr/30/2000)
Fran has drug habit that she is desperately trying to get under control and hopes her son DeAndre stays far away from the drugs himself. Fran knows that DeAndre deals cocaine on the corner, just he, his mother and younger half brother De'Rodd can survive and warns him to stop. He does not and ends up getting busted, yet again. So to teach him a lesson, Fran decides to not bail him out and he gets transferred to "Boy's Village", a youth detention center for drug users.

4 :01x04 - Dope Fiend Blues (May/07/2000)
Gary attempts to get off drugs and ends up getting a seasonal job at a local crab market where he worked as a teenager. DeAndre gets himself a new girlfriend and has no idea Tyreeka is pregnant with his child. After Fran decides to play it safe and go to rehab, DeAndre has to turn to Gary for money to help feed him and his brother, De'Rodd.

5 :01x05 - Corner Boy's Blues (May/14/2000)
Things are going so well for Fran that she now can move the family into a new house. The same cannot be said for Gary who ends up losing his job at the crab market when crab season ends. After DeAndre finds out about Tyreeka's pregnancy, he decides to take a real job at a fast food restaurant, but then decides that he will keep his corner job as well. Meanwhile, aging drug dealer Curt collapses and ends up in the hospital.

6 :01x06 - Everyman's Blues (May/21/2000)
It's Thanksgiving and the entire Boyd family gets together which ends up including the birth of DeAndre's son. Gary soon becomes overwhelmed with life and ends up asking Ronnie to get some dope for him again and ends up turning to petty crime to get extra money. Fran is shocked when she catches her boyfriend Marvin doing crack. DeAndre ends up losing control and ends up shaving his head and dealing drugs once again. He soon ends up with a very serious cocaine addiction.
