Episode Quotes |
| |
Sam: “Kids are the best?" You don’t even like kids.
Dean: I love kids.
Sam: Name three children that you even know.
(pause)
Dean: I’m thinking! | Sheriff Devins: We have a couple of options here. I can arrest you for impersonating government officials and hold you as material witnesses to Bill Carlton's disappearance. Or we can chalk this all up to a bad day, you get into your car, you put this town in your rearview mirror, and you don't ever darken my doorstep again.
Sam: Door number two sounds good. | Dean: You know, Sam, we are allowed to have fun once in a while. (points to the beautiful waitress) That’s fun. | Andrea: (to Dean) Must be hard with your sense of direction. Never being able to find your way to a decent pickup line. | Dean: Oh, college boy thinks he’s so smart. (Sam laughs)
Sam: You know, um … what you said about mom … you never told me that before.
Dean: It’s no big deal … oh God, we’re not gonna have to hug or anything, are we? | Dean: (Puts box of sandwiches in the car) All right, if you’re gonna be talking now, this is a very important phrase, so I want you to repeat it one more time.
Lucas: Zeppelin rules! |

Episode Goofs |
| |
When Dean circles the picture in the newspaper and hands the paper to Sam, the circle changes from around the picture to around the picture and the girl's name. | In the scene where the boy is being drowned in the sink, at first the plug attached to a chain is in water in the sink. When the shot returns to the sink, the plug is out of the water. | When Will drowns, you can clearly see that the plug isn't in the sink. However, Will reaches into the water to unplug the sink though the plug was never there in the first place. |

Cultural References |
| |
Dean: I'm Agent Ford, this is Agent Hamill.
Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill starred in the first three Star Wars movies. Also, the boy, Lucas, is a reference to George Lucas, creator of the Star Wars Franchise. | Episode Opening
The opening scene of the episode is very similar to the opening scene of the movie Jaws. | Door Number Two Sounds Good
This catchphrase was popularized by Let's Make A Deal. Host Monty Hall offered contestants choices such as "Door Number One, Door Number Two, or you can trade it for what's behind the curtain!" The trick of the show was that some of the prizes were very nice, while others were booby prizes. |

Analysis |

Water Wraith
Though the episode takes place in Wisconsin, Water Wraiths originated in Scotland. The episode follows the tale of the Wraiths very closely, incorporating most of the story into the plot line. However, in the tale, Wraiths typically take the form of skinny, old women that dress in green, not of an angry little boy as this episode portrays. |
