Deep beneath the city of Metropolis, a terrifying force from space awaits to be uncovered and awoken, it's name is Doomsday, it's intent is nothing short of killing anything it sees in front of it,. When his rampage reaches Metropolis, only one power can end it's rampage: Superman.
But when Superman meets Doomsday in a devastating duel, the people of Metropolis soon bear witness to the impossible, as Superman is ultimately cut down and killed. Reeling from the aftermath, Superman's closest friends, including a grieving Lois Lane, deal with the loss in their own personal ways, but Superman's arch-nemesis Lex Luthor will go to any inhuman length to ensure he remembers the man of steel in his own way, whilst tearing apart his foe's reputation at the same time and gaining an army of super-powered mercenaries...

Episode Notes |
| |
Based (very) loosely on The Death of Superman arc from the early 1990s. Much of the later storylines such as "Funeral For A Friend" and "Reign of the Supermen" are condensed drastically to fit into the movie's length. |

The giant spider The Toyman pilots, which is stopped by the renegade Superman impostor, is a nod to an infamous development that occurred during Kevin Smith's tenure writing the Superman Lives script. At the time, the film's producer Jon Peters had insisted that Smith use in his script, a furry dog, a gay robot, and Superman had to fight a giant "thangarian snarebeast", aka a giant spider. Smith's script was never made, and Peters eventually used a giant spider for the 1999 Will Smith movie The Wild Wild West. |
