Representatives from various countries who want to know more about the Stargate and the SGC are taken on a visit to the Gamma site. Unfortunately, at the same time the Gamma site scientists are investigating strange bugs from another planet, believed to be part of an Ori plan to scare worlds into worshiping them. The scientific study leads to the imperilment of the representatives and the Gamma site, as the bugs get out of control. SG-1, having been especially assigned to protect the representatives, must find a way to get them safely back to Earth, before they are consumed by the now carnivorous Ori bugs.

Episode Notes

The R-75 insects, as the SGC calls them, were bioengineered by the Ori as a new plague for non-believers of the Ori, ever since SG-1 found a cure for the original Ori plague. The insect is a herbivore by nature but can become carnivorous if deprived of plant matter to consume.

Episode Quotes

Mitchell: Look, I don't wanna argue about this. I'm right, let's leave it at that.
Daniel: Compelling arguement. Teal'c, what do you think?
Teal'c: I think I should have remained with the tour.

Mitchell: Sir, I don’t mean to gripe.
General Landry: Permission to gripe granted.

General Landry: What have you found out?
Dr. Lee: Well, I learned that bugs still creep me out. It all started when I was a kid and my parents took me on a picnic, and this bug creeped up on me…perhaps you’d care to hear this story another time.
General Landry: I doubt it.

Mitchell: That's what I like about you, you're always positive. You're already past this whole bug situation, thinking about what movie you want to watch tomorrow night.
Teal'c: I was considering Old School.
Mitchell: My boy blue!

Daniel: Look, all I am saying is lets not get too carried away. Yes we stopped them this time, but you'd be damn sure that they're already thinking up some other means of spreading fear and destruction through this galaxy.
Mitchell: Yeah, that's why we call them "the bad guys."

Daniel: So, we still doing movie night?
Sam: Yeah, why not?
Mitchell: Great, I've already picked something out.
Teal'c: Old School?
Mitchell: Starship Troopers!
Teal'c: Is it humorous?
Mitchell: Is it ever.

Mitchell: Honestly, what are we doing here?
Daniel: Honest answer, PR for the Stargate program.
Mitchell: I’m telling you, today it’s escorting delegates on foreign worlds, tomorrow it’s comic book conventions and supermarket openings.

(Daniel and Xiaoyi are speaking Chinese)
Shen Xiaoyi: How did you learn such good Chinese?
Daniel: Well, your English is much better than my Chinese.
Shen Xiaoyi: (referring to Mitchell) What about your leader?
Daniel: Oh, we're still teaching him.
(They both start laughing)
